I can upload the PSD/PDN file for this, once I get my laptop back. would a PSD/PDN file be suitable? Kizzycocoa 10:37, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

-- It would be great if you could do this - I'm working on a short Portal mod and it would be very helpful to me - otherwise I'll have to leave TestChamber signs out

Yh, I just need to get around to it, what with exams and stuff, I haven't had time to do this. That and the fact I forgot. Basically, go into the portal GCF and take out one of the sign textures, export it as a tga, edit and transfer to the right folder. SImple MLSTRM 11:33, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Ok, that seems easy enough - I tried to find the sign textures but to no avail earlier - I shall try again. Thanks --Cred-Injuries 11:12, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

It's been changed to seperate tiles for each hazard now. sorry about this. And i can't find my original so we could just delete this page... MLSTRM 11:02, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

OMG! I totally forgot about this thread. I will upload the PSD of the test chamber (not hazard) signs ASAP! Kizzycocoa 09:39, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

someone please find a permanent place for this. mediafire is only temporary. Kizzycocoa 17:39, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
added to moddb. if it's authorised, it can be lined from the article as a permanent location for the signage Kizzycocoa 17:49, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
it was authorised. here's the link. http://www.moddb.com/members/kizzycocoa/addons/raw-level-signage-for-portal Kizzycocoa 23:10, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Article Updated

I majorly revamped the article using the tutorial included with the PSD. When the file is uploaded to moddb someone can change the link. Subject15837 21:46, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

can we have an update explaining what the text fonts/sizes are? we don't all use photoshop :P Kizzycocoa 22:40, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
The text fonts and sizes should be there already, it's a template... Subject15837 02:27, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
"Select the Progress Numbers 1 layer and the text tool to change the first set".
this action is photoshop-specific. :P Kizzycocoa 06:02, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, but anything that can read PSD files should be able to read the font there. Still, I guess I can specify the font, if you really want it. Subject15837 15:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
paint.net (one of the leading freeware paint programs) cannot read it unfortunately :P Kizzycocoa 16:30, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Actually I have a PSD plugin, that's the upside to a freeware program: plugins :D Even still, the font is now in the article. :D Subject15837 19:39, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, thanks for doing this guys, i totally forgot and i just didn't have the time either. MLSTRM 18:30, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

This needs a change

I do have a personal easy way to create test chamber model signs. But it's admittedly quite dumb. I have a set of text I copy and paste. I paste the text in the smd file where "awe_total" and "awe_total_grey" start and end. I also have comments that tell me which will be greyed out or solid. It works surprisingly well but it's very unpractical.

I really wish we knew of an easier way to make test signs whether if that's by modeling, or writing a program to automatically create signs for us. --Mandrew (Talk) 20:59, 3 August 2021‎ (PDT)

And I've decided to redo the model guide section but it requires knowledge for blender, more screenshots could be added and if someone is willing, they can add more software to use like Maya or some other popular software. --Mandrew (talk) 01:06, 3 April 2022 (PDT)
