This command does not crashes the Source engine, or at least not in HL2DM.. It creates several "balls" or ropes that fly around like flies in the room you typed the command.. in fact this is really weird XD --NykO18

It might depend on what kind of system you have, as this command seems intended to clog up performance, which indirectly will cause lower end systems to crash. (I haven't tested this command out myself - I'm just guessing.) --Andreasen 18:07, 24 Aug 2006 (PDT)
I tested it... Indeed, it's very weird... I have hairballs flying around :P Anyway, it doesn't crash here... My FPS isn't even that much lower. --dutchmega 10:54, 25 Aug 2006 (PDT)
I take it both of you have high end systems? --Andreasen 11:56, 25 Aug 2006 (PDT)
I have. But maybe the code changed in the new SDK? --dutchmega 12:10, 25 Aug 2006 (PDT)
I haven't. I'm running a Radeon 9800 and a 2 Ghz processor. --NykO18
Tried it now, on a HL2SP map, and it crashed HL2 with one of those hidden "memory cound not be read" errors that's so hard to close down. I have 1.5 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Radeon X800 Pro, so it might be the lower end computer that crashes, but it might also be if you run SP or DM maps. Did you both run DM maps? --Andreasen 18:16, 25 Aug 2006 (PDT)
I was running a custom DM map. --NykO18

Seems that the updates fixed it—ts2do 21:27, 25 Aug 2006 (PDT)

What? Three hours later? It crashed on me just before I wrote that it crashed, so it's at least still crashing for me. --Andreasen 04:29, 26 Aug 2006 (PDT)
It's fixed in the new code! It still crashes in HL2 but not anymore with the new code (HL2DM, mods with 215) --dutchmega 05:28, 26 Aug 2006 (PDT)
Yes, I tried it out across platforms now, and is works in HL2DM and CS:S, but not in HL2SP, so it's a platform issue. Glad to have sorted that out. --Andreasen 05:53, 26 Aug 2006 (PDT)
That's a good thing because it's really an important feature of the engine ! XD --NykO18

Now, that hairballs are pitch black and so are ropes, usually ropes can creep me and make me think of those freaky looking.. things. --Wezinator35
