What is "the embryonic in-game map editor seen in Portal"? Please do elaborate or include a link about that because I am really interested in learning more about such an in-game map editor found in Portal.--ThaiGrocer 23:02, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

I assume he was referencing po_edit but that tool was created by a third party and while nice technically it makes terrible maps as the resulting maps are save files and cannot have lighting. --Omnicoder 02:05, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Just had a thought, this tile edit map thing, could be used with the new code to create some kind of old school RPG, with a DM mapping while the players play.... --Welsh Mullet 21:51, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Could the ai navigation code be backported? --Welsh Mullet 02:09, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Engine Branch

The FAQ says "Uses a modified Source engine between the L4D2 and Portal 2 iterations", so we probably need a new page about this specific branch. Left 4 Dead engine branch is more closer than Source 2009, but I think we can be more precise about this. What do you think? --Barracuda 23:02, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Can't we just call it the Alien Swarm branch and be done with it? A Valve employee said it was branched off several months ago from the main...line(?).Skeith 03:15, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Just to reiterate what the FAQ says, I found this earlier: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16141866&highlight=PersonGuy#post16141866 --pizzahut 10:24, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
