While cascade lighting is not a real form of soft shadowing, it comes very close real-time soft shadowing as games such as Crysis.

env_cascade_lighting is a point entity available in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It cast extremely accurate shadows and precisely casts shadows from transparant materials and geometry onto lightmapped materials. it is different from static prop shadows which only cast shadows that originate from the collisionmodel (and from transparant textures with the Expert Compiling -textureshadows command) rather than the entire root model.

HDR must be enabled to activate cascade lighting.

While cascade lighting is not a real form of soft shadowing, it comes very close real-time soft shadowing as games such as Crysis.
