Imho, a days delay isn't really a significant delay. I know how eagerly some people wait for the releases, but in all honesty, these small, small delays happen, and shouldn't be anything to fuss over (unless someone at Valve swore on their mother or something). A Gag Category?

What games are with what dates?

To be able to verify the dates, could we have some sort of discreet column explaining what game the delay concerns, possibly on the talk page? Otherwise, people will be able to make all sorts of claims. --Andreasen 05:10, 22 Sep 2007 (PDT)

I think that some, if not most of them are just random stuff which aren't related directly to a specific game, but just trie to capture the general idea, I don't see any reason to change it, aslong as everyone gets that this is good fun and nothing more.--RP 11:46, 22 Sep 2007 (PDT)

If something is interesting to read, then it's somewhat useful. However, unreferenced and meaningless statements are not interesting and therefore are useless. The two entries about the release of Episode Two are unnecessary because there is already an entry with the first release date announced and the actual release date. Gabe editing a page doesn't make the page blessed. I know it's not Wikipedia, but having some real info like the release date of Half-Life 2 (2003 -> 2004) instead of confusing bullshit (In the upcoming months -> Never: what is it about) makes the page funny and interesting. Yeah, maybe I'm just missing the point about some of the entries, but I'm sure there are other people who are new to Half-Life and Valve and would like to know why the article is so sarcastic about the Valve time. This article would be more interesting if there was a third column that said what was delayed, ie "release of TF2" or "announcement of polycount contest winners". "Valve Time" is pretty passe these days, it hasn't really been applicable in any real sense in a long time, Episode 3 not withstanding. The huge majority of their release dates are met within a reasonable range (few minutes, hours, etc.), but people just love to exclaim "LOL VALEV TIME" when a release date is more than 0:02 seconds late. People also think that they can call Valve Time when their timezone hits the time, but it hasn't gotten there in PST. Not to mention that it's only a valid call of Valve Time, when they specify a date, miss it, and then call another date. --Msleeper 21:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

To my knowledge, Portal 2 has always been February 9th, but I don't particularly follow the very human shortcomings of Valve very closely. There are some people who call Valve Time because it says February 10th for them, but again, blame timezones for that one. So some random guy called "Robin" tells Lord Vader that some fix is going to be in the next update, and Lord Vader thinks he's from Valve? Am I missing something here? As we are on the Valve Developer Community wiki itself, seems we should list how long it took between "a SDK will be released soon after" (or whatever the actual quote was) and when the Authoring Tools Beta was released (or are we still waiting for the non-beta Authoring Tools?).

Do you think Valve Time needs a picture?

Valve Time is a very difficult concept to grasp since we're not working within the confines of our senses. Do you think that an artists rendition of Valve Time can help people understand how it relates to the rest of the universe and even themselves? Ticket Information from the International

They said on the ticket sales that the tickets and information would be emailed to the purcharsers no later than June 30th, I got my email on July 12th and as you can see on the news in dota2.com, they sent them on that day. I would post this myself but I've never edited a wiki before.

Adding a brief description of what "valve time" is?

I would like to discuss adding a description of what valve time is for the TL;DR-ers out there and grandparents that don't understand memes.

The reference on wikipedia

"Valve Time" is an industry term used jokingly with game releases from Valve, used to acknowledge the difference between the "promised" date for released content stated by Valve and to the "actual" release date; "Valve Time" includes predominant delays but also includes some content that was released earlier than expected.
