Looks like ModB has launched their new site format and with that a little more news to City 17. So far the new update has been released, yet just for map making, not the actual source code, so were still waiting on that to continue anything really, however meantime in the process we've been working on a little portal map, to play with tell then. We would also like to announce that Cory and his brother Neil along with the rest of the team have set up a little dev team for portal, so expect some crazy puzzles from Gear, and maybe even some TF2 maps along with that. We also added in a new page to ModB and thats the company page to go with the mod site and also anything else related Under GEAR. So with that all said hopefully we can start soon on the update to our mod, but until then, expect a crazy portal map! With more and more going on, the soon to be released Particle editor will allow us to make some incredible effects in game, and with that, the mod plans to use a lot of this. In a media update today, we come to add just a bit of news that City17: EP1 is going to use al the new features of the new source Engine, and although this has been said many times before, were adding a little something to the mix.

What is that you may ask? Well its Volume metric Lighting! Something hard to pull off in any game really, but with the use of LUA coding where able to implement real time Volume metric lighting rays, and even shadows through smoke and fog. This puts up a lot of work for us, but its a very nice feature to have implemented. So hopefully we can get that out with the new SDK, and at the mods release.

Also along with that, City17: Episode 1 will be out before the end of this year.--Gear 10:53, 10 Nov 2007 (PST)
